C-Reactive Protein exists at a very low concentration in healthy dogs, but in just 4 hours, increases after inflammatory stimulation such as infection, trauma, etc. If there is no further stimulation, the concentration returns to normal within a week. The Vcheck cCRP is a valuable test providing a real-time inflammatory marker.
