Top-Tier Analyzer Offering 6-Diff and Reticulocyte Analysis

In 90 seconds or less, the Vcheck H provides results for 35 different parameters in white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets, reticulocytes and hemoglobin. Even minor deviations in CBC results can provide early clues to underlying health conditions for early diagnosis and proactive treatment, often before clinical symptoms emerge or abnormalities appear in other lab tests.

Detecting these measurements is achieved with the help of three testing technologies – fluorescence flow cytometry, sheath flow impedance and colorimetry – all conveniently available with the push of a single button. Veterinarians can also choose between platelet optical or platelet impedance measuring, ensuring they can test with their preferred method and practice medicine on their own terms.

How Does It Work?

The Vcheck H utilizes three different testing methods to detect 35 parameters between white blood cells, reticulocytes, red blood cells, platelets and hemoglobin.

6-Diff of WBC and Reticulocyte Analysis: Fluorescence

  • Fluorescence-stained cells pass through the flow cytometer.

  • Each cell moves through a multi-angle laser, and the system analyzes its size, complexity/granularity and fluorescence intensity.

  • Allows the specific identification and classification of each cell.

RBC and PLT Measurement: Sheath Flow Impedance

  • A small electric current flows through a tiny aperture between two electrodes.

  • When a cell passes through the aperture, it temporarily blocks the current, creating resistance known as impedance.

  • By measuring this resistance, we can determine the size of each cell. Each cell passage generates a pulse, and by collecting these pulses, we obtain a graph displaying cell size and count.

  • Compared to traditional impedance methods, by using the sheath flow, this approach is more accurate while requiring less maintenance and consuming less diluent.

Hemoglobin Measurement: Colorimetry

  • Cells are broken down through lysis, releasing hemoglobin.

  • The released hemoglobin reacts with a specialized reagent, causing a color change. The degree of color change is proportional to the amount of hemoglobin and is measured by the light absorbed at a specific wavelength.

  • Notably, the upgraded cyanide-free lyse used in this process features stronger dissolving power and improved stability.
